The photograph above was made on the beach at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina at 10:35 in the morning on this day, in 1903.
Orville Wright preset the camera and had safety man John T. Daniels squeeze the rubber bulb, tripping the shutter and exposing this 5 x 7 in. dry plate glass negative, recording the momentous event.
