watermelon smash before/after – 2016

Primarily I’m a meat man, although once in a while I toy with a few vegetables.
-Nat King Cole

Nat King Cole & friends doing an awesome version of “Get Your Kicks on Route 66” composed by Bobby Troup in 1946 and recorded 1st by Nat King Cole the same year.

the great tune was also recorded by: Perry Como, Chuck Berry, Asleep at the Wheel and the Rolling Stones

3 things I learned while laying out this watermelon/Nat King Cole post:

  1. The watermelon is both a fruit and a vegetable
  2. Nat King Cole made television history in 1956, when he became the first African-American performer to host a variety TV series – The Nat King Cole Show
  3. If you eat watermelon seeds, they will not sprout in your stomach
