first snow

Exactly 1 week ago, we took our dog Woody to the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve outside Chicago.

It was a beautiful and cool autumn day – snow and ice seemed like a ways off yet.

But yesterday we got our first snow of the year. It snarled traffic and created a lot of work for

everyone here in the Midwest.

But after the storm had passed, it turned Chicago into a kind of winter wonderland for a little while.
