Badlands

Badlands National Park – South Dakota

Badlands National Park is another one of my favorite places to explore. The whole area has a special place in my heart, because to me, the Badlands and the Black Hills are healing places and I’ve always felt a sort of magnetic pull anytime I’ve been near there.

Summer in the South Dakota Badlands is mesmerizing  but it can get extremely hot, so for me, spring and autumn are the best times to go.

At those times, you can find more solitude and the sun isn’t so merciless.

I once took SD44 from Rapid City all the way through the southern part of the Badlands and then on through the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation – two very long but beautiful days.
