The high plains of Wyoming reflected in the rear quater panel chrome of an abandonned 1953 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight.

The 1953 Oldsmobile 98 was before my time, but it was a beautiful automobile. The car was big, powerful, built for cruising the open highway, and had great lines. Apparently in 1953, you could have purchased it for about $3500. Better still, you could have gotten it is as a convertible with the 304 cubic inch Rocket 98 V8 package.

The 98 below is the Fiesta model. I like the cool, chrome headlight pinstriping that runs all the way from the headlights to the middle of each huge door – long, chrome, speed lines.
