Gort and pig

While working on another project the other day, I made this image of a metal, wind up Gort the robot and a little pink pig I found at a flea market.  Sometimes when I’m working and get stuck creatively, I’ll turn to something completely different to get the muse back.

Gort is an 8 foot tall robot from another planet in the 1951 cult classic movie, “The Day the Earth Stood Still”.  In the movie Gort doesn’t talk, but uses a laser projected from beneath his visor to vaporize stuff.

It’s a one-off image and took 2 minutes to shoot but the act of setting this up and making the image, helped get me back on track creatively.
