I made this image of snow fences in Wyoming somewhere between Laramie and Saratoga on highway 130, the Snowy Range Road. The 29 mile long, US Scenic Byway road is remarkably stark and beautiful.
The road takes you from the high plains of Laramie at 7100′ up into the high alpine regions of the Medicine Bow/ Routt National Forest and The Snowy Range at approximately 10, 000′ then down into Saratoga, Wyoming.
According to the very cool EPA map below, that area of the US is called the Wyoming Basin / Southern Rockies ecoregion.
