Every year around this time of year, I think about how beautiful it is out on the High Plains of the US. The grasses have turned gold, the elk are bugling, the storms are incredible and the crowds are gone.
In the early 2000’s I made a series of trips out to the High Plains and shot a lot of film while enjoying the incredible land in Wyoming, Nebraska, South and North Dakota and Montana.
This image as a part of my series “High Plains 55” and was shot on a US Forest Service road in Wyoming called “Aspen Alley”.
Photographed entirely on Polaroid Type 55 4X5 film, this series is the result of my years travelling those states – exploring the high wide and handsome.
