In homage to Democracy, civility, voting and generally just getting on with things…
Today is the reception for a group show I’m in outside Chicago. The show is up at The Dellora A. Norris Cultural Center in St. Charles, IL.
The show is called “Vicinity” and it’s for artists who reside within a 50 mile radius of Chicago.
Unfortunately I have so much work to do building my website and completing my Illinois Arts Council Grant, that I can’t make the hundred
mile round trip from my home out to St. Charles for the reception.
But the party/ receptionis in full swing today. So if you you want to see some remarkable art, head out to St. Charles. The show is up through November 2nd.
From the Dellora A. Norris website:
Vicinity 2013 will be on display in the Norris Gallery from September 14 through November 2. Vicinity is an annual juried exhibition in all media for artists residing within a 50-mile radius of the Norris Gallery. The show will include painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, fiber art, jewelry and mixed media. Artists will compete for the Lester J. Norris Memorial Award and three Awards of Excellence. Free admission to the show, and to the October 6 reception.
