SX 70 manipulation – After Escher

Polaroid film has been a favorite of mine for many years and now and with SX 70 film being brought back from the dust bin of photo history, I’ve been shooting more and more of it. The immediacy of the film and it’s beautiful unsaturated, low contrast look is really fun to work with. But, the best part is after pressing the shutter button, you end up with a print – a beautiful little artifact.

I made this image of a wine carafe some time ago on the original SX 70 emulsion, but I’ve shot the new film now being made by the Impossible Project and it’s really beautiful, as well.

After Escher…
